Sand tray is a physical form of therapy. You can actually get your hands a little dirty. (Well maybe just dusty). Sand tray is a process that any age at preschool and above. Sand tray is a form of therapy which is based on the metaphor created by the client in the sand. The therapist facilitates a space where the client feels "safe, secure and open". Thoughts and feelings your have are represented naturally in the sand.
Play therapy is also a physical form of therapy for children. Through the use of play children can act out the stresses, trauma, or confusion that a child is feeling. It is a child focused form of therapy which allows the child to be free and secure during the session.
